Our chapter is part of the International Women in the Wind Motorcycle organization. The goals are to promote a positive image of women who ride motorcycles through safe riding and activities that support women.
WITW welcomes women from all walks of life who are licensed riders and ride any model or make of 2- or 3- wheeled motorcycles.
We hold business meetings starting at 6:00 PM on the first Wednesday of the month. During riding season from May to September we have a Ride Night starting at 6:00 PM held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday. Weekend rides and rides during the weekday fill out our riding activities.
If you are looking for a group of women who practice safe riding and support other women - riders or not, please check us out. Whether you are new to riding or seasoned, young or young at heart, we just might be what you are looking for.
WITW was founded by Becky Brown of Toledo, Ohio. In 1979 she placed an ad in the local newspaper looking for fellow female motorcyclists. Eleven women took their first ride along the Maumee River.
Since then, WITW has expended to more than 1,400 members spanning the globe across the US and Canada to Europe, Australia and Asia. Learn more at the WITW International site http://www.womeninthewind.org/
Conferences are held in summer and winter providing opportunities for members to travel to join together with our fellow sisters from other chapters. We discuss issues of concern to our members, learn from each other and best of all, spend time with women who love to ride.
The Milwaukee Area Chapter started in 1986 and has been going strong for over 35 years. Check out our Facebook page for current information on meeting locations and upcoming rides.
